On Sep 25,2016, the Vice-President of R&D department Mr. Jiang Yong and Marketing Director Mr. Yi Yong from Wisonic visited the laboratory of micro acoustic imaging, which is our scientific cooperation partner, led by Vice-Professor Ms Cheng from the Institute of Acoustics, Tongji University. During this meeting they revolutionarily upgraded V2.3 of ultrasound & photoacoustic bimodal imaging system, which was the joint R&D result in the high-end medical diagnostic equipment field by Tongji University and Wisonic in the past three years. At the meeting, both sides also had some academic exchanges and negotiated the R&D plan for future cooperation.
On behalf of Wisonic Mr. Jiang Yong thanked Tongji University for its scientific research and technical support over the years. He also indicated that besides the scientific research cooperation, he hope could make contributions to his Alma Mater, and promised a certain quota of internship positions for graduate/doctoral students from Tongji Institude of Acoustics annually. At the same time he sincerely invited all other ambitious students from Tongji to work with Wisonic together for a bright future.
Institude of Acoustics, Tongji University is approved by the State Education Commission in 1980, which is focusing on acoustics academic research, and carrying out basic, applied basic research in medical ultrasound, architectural acoustics, noise control, automotive acoustics and many other interdisciplinary fields. It’s an affiliated institution of Shanghai Acoustical Society, kept at rank of top three domestic acoustic disciplines in past years.
The laboratory of micro acoustic imaging led by Professor Cheng focuses on the study of micrometer - nanometer scale acoustic measurement and imaging technology as well as the development of corresponding experimental system. In recent years this laboratory assumed the Major National Special Developing Program of Scientific Instrument and Equipment, National High-Tech Research and Development Program of China (National 863 Project), Natural Science Fund of China (NSFC) and many other national scientific research projects. Meanwhile, it studied on acoustic detection and imaging for physicochemical properties of biological tissue (cell-tumor) under different scales, and developed the relevant experimental system:
•Medical Ultrasound / Photoacoustic Bimodal Imager (National 863 Program, cooperated with Wisonic, began from 2013 )
•Optical Fiber Acoustic Sensing System(Major National Special Developing Program of Scientific Instrument and Equipment)
•High-resolution Scanning Probe Acoustic Microscope (NSFC)
•Ultra-high-resolution Near-field Photoacoustic Microscopy (NSFC)
•Photoacoustic and photothermal scanning probe microscopy (NSFC)
Early in 2013, Wisonic cooperated with Professor Cheng on the research of medical ultrasound-photoacoustic bimodal imaging (National 863 Project) and successfully implemented Engineering instrumentation. The study in this field has by far achieved international banner level.
After meeting Tongji Institute of Acoustics and Wisonic unveiled the Joint Laboratory of Medical Ultrasound.
Under such a national background of vigorously promoting the development of high-end medical diagnostic instrument, both sides were optimistic about the prospects of school-enterprise cooperation in scientific research. Meanwhile, they reached a common vision and idea benefiting the public: to convert the latest medical ultrasound results into products as soon as possible, to make the most intimate solutions for patient's health, to provide more care to common people.
